03/28/1995 - Special - MinutesPort Orchard, Washington March 28, 1995 Mayor Protem Clauson called the City Council to order at 7:30 AM in Special Session. The purpose of this Special Session is for Council members and interested citizens to participate in a guided tour of the City to review Draft Comprehensive Plan residential land use classifications and designations and discuss comprehensive land use planning issues. Council members present: Clauson, Childress, Morrison, Geiger, Powers, Van Zee and Grable. City Staff present: City Planner and City Clerk Parks. Councilmembers, staff and one citizen met at city hall at 7:30 AM and boarded a Kitsap Transit van/bus. Those present proceeded to tour the City. City Planner Brown narrated the tour, faciliting discussion on various aspects of land use planning. Topics addressed included, but were not limited to, Low Density Residential and High Density Residential Zones, rolled asphalt curbs and sidewalks, lot size permitted within specific zone designations and availability of utilities. Areas of the City highlighted were, (1) parcels designated as Low Density Residential on the Draft Comprehensive Plan Land Use Map; (2) approved residential developments which are in progressive stages of construction; (3) industrial zone area adjacent to Lloyd Parkway; and (4) undeveloped parcels of land which are planned or anticipated to be site of future residential or commercial development.
