The following is a summary of an Ordinance approved by the Port Orchard City Council at their regular
Council meeting held December 11,2000.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON
AMENDING THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
ORDINANCE NO. 1634; BY AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
MAP FOR PROPERTIES LOCATED AT THE SIDNEY
AVENUElSEDGWlCK ROAD INTERSESCTION.
Copies of Ordinance No. 1805 are available for review at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Port
Orchard. Upon written request a statement of the full text of the Ordinance will be mailed to any
interested person without charge. Thirty days after publication, copies of Ordinance No. 1805 will be
provided at a nominal charge.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD
AMENDING CITY OF PORT ORCHARD COMPREHENSIVE
PLAN ORDINANCE N0.1634; BY AMENDING THE
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN MAP FOR PROPERTIES LOCATED
AT THE SIDNEY AVENUE/SEDGWICK ROAD INTERSECTION.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Orchard has initiated a Comprehensive Plan
Map Amendment, CA-01-00, requesting designation of recently annexed properties described herein, to
reflect the current Zoning Map designation, and all legal requirements have been performed: and
WHEREAS, the intent of this Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment is to provide a
Comprehensive Plan Designation which most closely reflects the current zoning designation for the subject
properties; and
WHEREAS, State Law RCW 36.70A.130 dictates that cities shall at least evely fwe years
take action to review and, if needed, revise its Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard seeks to be in compliance with the goals, policies, and
procedures of the Growth Management Act; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard Planning Commission has transmitted to the Council of
the City of Port Orchard their findings and conclusions as stated in Resolution 31 1-00, (Attachment "A") that
the Comprehensive Plan Map be amended for the reasons stated therein;
WHEREAS, the proposed Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment CA-01-00 is found to be
consistent with the goals of the community, adopted Comprehensive Plan, and general requirements of the
Growth Management Act (RCW 36.70A); now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: That the City Council does hereby adopt Planning Commission Resolution No
311-00. with findings and conclusion, as it's own and does hereby designate certain properties on the
Comprehensive Plan Map as Industrial or Commercial as illustrated on Attachment "B.

PLANNING COMMISSION
RESOLUTION 311-00
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD PLANNING COMMISION
RECOMMENDING THE APPROVAL OF A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
DESIGNATING THE LAND ON THE COMPREHENSIVE MAP THE SAME
DESIGNATION AS THE CUFRENT ZONING ORDINANCE.
AMENDMENT, CA-01-00, LOCATED AT THE SIDNEY/SEDGWICK AREA
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a Public Meeting for the
Comprehensive Plan Amendment, CA-01-00; and
WHEREAS, the City is proposing that the Comprehensive Plan designation of
the recently annexed area located near Sidney and Sedgwick reflect what is currently
zoned on the Zoning Map; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard is proposing to complete the
Comprehensive Plan map to include all recently annexed areas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard following State Law RCW 36.70A.130
which dictates that cities shall at least every five yehrs take action to review and, if
needed, revise its Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard seeks to be in compliance with the goals,
policies, and procedures of the Growth Management Act; and
. WE THEREFORE FIND that the Comprehensive Plan Amendment, CA-01-00,
is not detrimental to the health, safety, and welfare of the community and is proposed to
be within the character of the Growth Management Act, Comprehensive Plan, and the
community.
CONCLUSION: Based upon the facts, testimony, and the materials presented at
the Meeting, we therefore conclude that the Comprehensive Plan Amendment, CA-01-00,
is consistent with the health, safety, and welfare of the City of Port Orchard.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Port Orchard
does hereby respectfully request that the City Council approve the Comprehensive Plan
Amendment, CA-01-00.
