The following is a summary of an Ordinance approved by the Port Orchard City Council at their regular

ORDINANCE NO. 1806
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON
AMENDING THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
ORDINANCE NO. 1634; BY AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
MAP FOR PROPERTIES LOCATED IN THE ROSS POINT AREA.
Copies of Ordinance No. 1806 are available for review at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Port
Orchard. Upon written request a statement of the full text of the Ordinance will be mailed to any
interested person without charge. Thirty days after publication, copies of Ordinance No. 1806 will be
provided at a nominal charge.

CITY OF PORT ORCHARD COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
ORDINANCE N0.1634; BY AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE
PLAN MAP FOR PROPERTIES LOCATED IN THE ROSS POINT

FOR COMPLETE LEGAL.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Orchard has initiated a Comprehensive Plan
Map Amendment, CA-02-00, requesting designation of recently annexed properties described herein, to
reflect the current Zoning Map designation, and all legal requirements have been performed; and
WHEREAS, the intent of this Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment is to provide a
Comprehensive Plan designation which most closely reflects the current zoning designation for this subject
properties; and
WHEREAS, State Law RCW 36.70A.130 dictates that cities shall at least every five years
take action to review and, if needed, revise its Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard seeks to be in compliance with the goals, policies, and
procedures of the Growth Management Act; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard Planning Commission has transmitted to the Council of
the City of Port Orchard their findings and conclusions as stated in Resolution 312-00, Attachment “A that
the Comprehensive Plan Map be amended for the reasons stated therein;
WHEREAS, the comprehensive Plan Map Amendment CA-02-00 is found to be consistent
with the goals of the community, adopted Comprehensive Plan and general requirements of the Growth
Management Act (RCW 36.70A); now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS: That the City Council does hereby adopt Planning Commission Resolution No. 312-00, with
findings and conclusions, as it‘s own and does hereby designate certain properties on the Comprehensive
Plan Map as Low Density Residential, Commercial, and Industrial, as illustrated on Attachment “8”.

PLANNING COMMISSION
RESOLUTION 312-00
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD PLANNING COMMISSION
RECOMMENDING THE APPROVAL OF A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
DESIGNATING THE LAND ON THE COMPREHENSIVE MAP THE SAME
DESIGNATION AS THE CURRENT ZONING.
AMENDMENT, CA-02-00, LOCATED AT THE ROSS POINT AREA AND
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a Public Meeting for the
Comprehensive Plan Amendment, CA-02-00; and
WHEREAS, the City is proposing that the Coniprehensive Plan designation of
the recently annexed area located at the Ross Point area to reflect what is currently zoned
on the Zoning Map; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard is proposing to complete the
Comprehensive Plan map to include all recently annexed areas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard following State Law RCW 36.70A.130,
which dictates that cities shall at least every five years take action to review and, if
needed, revise its Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard seeks to be in compliance with the goals,
policies, and procedures of the Growth Management Act; and
WE THEREFORE FIND that the Comprehensive Plan Amendment, CA-02-00,
is not detrimental to the health, safety, and welfare of the community and is proposed to
be within the character of the Growth Management Act, Comprehensive Plan, and
community.
CONCLUSION: Based upon the facts, testimony, and the materials presented at
the Meeting, we therefore conclude that the Comprehensive Plan Amendment CA-02-00
is consistent with the health, safety, and welfare of the City of Port Orchard.
