02/09/1987 - Regular - MinutesPort Orchard, Washington February 9, 1987 Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington, called to regular session by Mayor Leslie J. Weatherill. Councilmembers present: Clauson, Childress, Wilson, Geiger, Lloyd, Grosso and Grable. Also present: City Attorney McCluskey, City Treasurer Miller, Police Chief Mathews, Fire Chief Snow, Administrative Assistant Thomas, and City Clerk Hower. City Engineer Curles excused. On motion by Councilman Grable, seconded by Councilman Grosso, Council approved the minutes of the January 26, 1987 as distributed. Police Chief Mathews led the audience and Council in the Pledge of Allegiance. Councilman Wilson moved to approve proposal submitted by Raymond A. Forest, to operate a vending cart in the waterfront area, seconded by Councilman Grable and carried. Councilman Wilson moved to approve Resolution No. 1445, declaring City of Port Orchard's intent to create Local Improvement District to extend municipal sewer collection system from the vicinity of 1110 Bethel to the southerly City limits on Lincoln Avenue, for a distance of approximately 3,050 feet, seconded by Councilman Clauson and carried. Mayor Weatherill opened Public Hearing scheduled for 7:45 PM, regarding Wilkins Distributing, et al, petition for annexation into City of Port Orchard. Mayor Weatherill called for public input for and/or against proposed annexation into City of Port Orchard as petitioned by Wilkins Distributing, et al. As no response, was received from public, Mayor Weatherill closed Pubic Hearing, and referred proposed annexation to Council for discussion. Councilman Grosso moved to approve Ordinance No. 1374, relating to and providing for the annexation of territory to the City of Pert Orrhar( , as r;otitioned by Wilkins DistributinY i3O., Inc., et .:;�,�Iman Wilson and carried. (Legal Description Attachment No. 1. Roger Jensen, petitioner, thanked the Council and the City Staff for the time and effort involved in the annexation process. Vouchers audited and certified by the auditing officer (City Clerk) as required by RCW 42.24.080, and those expense reimbursement claims certified as required by RCW 42.24.090, have been recorded on a listing and made available to the Council. On motion by Councilman Geiger, seconded by Councilman Grable, Council unanimously approved payment of those vouchers as follows: Claims Warrant No. 8224-8353 in the total amount of $74,283.32 and January, 1987 Payroll Warrant No. 106954-107066 in the total amount of $92,611.91. Mayor Weatherill recessed Council into executive session for 5 minutes to discuss legal matters. Meeting reconvened at 8:15 PM. Meeting adjourned at 8:15 PM "��CLERK MAYOR
