09/17/1987 - Special - MinutesPort Orchard, Washington September 17, 1987 Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington called to Special Session by Mayor Leslie J. Weatherill at 8:00 PM. Councilmembers present: Clauson, Childress, Wilson, Geiger, Lloyd, Grosso and Grable. Also present: Fire Chief Snow and City Clerk Hower Mayor Weatherill explained purpose of this special meeting is to consider placing a one year levy on the November 3, 1987 election ballot to fund the construction of an addition to Fire Station No 2 and the purchase of a rescue vehicle. Councilman Clauson moved to adopt Resolution No. 1466 authorizing the calling of a special election of the qualified electors of the City of Port Orchard for November 3, 1987, to levy a one year tax estimated at $1.79 per thousand of assessed valuation for the year 1988 in the maximum amount of $250,000, for the purpose of construction of an addition to the facilities of Fire Station No. 2 in Port Orchard and the purchase of a rescue vehicle, seconded by Councilman Grable. Councilman Geiger moved to amend Resolution No. 1466 to levy a one year tax in the maximum amount of $275,000. Motion to amend died for lack of second. Original motion to adopt Resolution No. 1466 approved by unanimcus vote of the Port Orchard City Council Meeting adjourned at 8:08 PM. CLERK MAYOR
