Greg Easton and Jill Sterrett of EDAW reported on the Port Orchard Revitalization
Team's progress to date. They reported on:
lrt-An open house held two weeks ago with approximately 80 citizens and
interested parties participating
lrt-Upcoming meeting with the City Council in December -Implementation
strategies
t¥-Public Involvement through the media and information distributed at the
Farmers Market
t¥-Market analysis based on projected growth
t¥-Housing and business development requirements
t¥-Lodging and pedestrian requirements
t¥-Parking enhancement
t¥-Educational opportunities
t¥-Phased removal of marquee
t¥-New library
t¥-Use of second floor of Bay Street buildings
t¥-Moving utilities underground
Iii>' Strong support by local government and the Port of Bremerton
Iii>' Public investment stimulates private re-investment
ift,o. Strong Downtown Association
P.. Need for multi-family, single-family and condominium housing units
Mayor Abel requested written comments be provided to EDAW by Planning Commission
and Council Members by the end of next week.
At 9:00 p.m. Mayor Abel adjourned the meeting.
