December 28, 1978
Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington, called to regular
session by Mayor Paul D. Powers, Jr. Councilmen present—° Lee
Caldwell, Eugene Caldwell, Geiger, Miller, Roos and Clark. Mary
Wilson excused. Also present: Engineer, Fire Chief and Police
Chief.
On motion by Councilman Lee Caldwell, seconded and carried, Council
approved the minutes of the December 11, 1978 meeting as circulated.
Councilman Clark brought up the situation of a deputy sheriff issuita.
a citation for double parking on Bay Street by a local taxi to pick up
city passengers. Chief Mares will.obtain information on this case and
inform Council.
Councilman Geiger informed Council of the lack of signing and the
difficulties of finding your way on and off the interchange connecting
the City of Port Orchard and SR-16. Also, on the lack of proper
lighting at the overpass on Pottery.
Councilman Lee Caldwell spoke to a truck routing through the City and
cited the potential hazards that exist especially from inflammable
tankers. Chief of the Fire Department will make recommendations to
the Committee. (Street)
On motion by Councilman Lee Caldwell, seconded and carried, Council
approved Resolution No. 1209 authorizing the transfer of Funds from
Water -Sewer Fund to Water Construction Fund = 1975 (Bremerton Water
Intertie).
On motion by Councilman Roos, seconded and carried, Council approved
Resolution No. 1210 authorizing the City Treasurer to make interfund
transfer loan to be secured by promissory note with interest at 80
from Current Expense to Federal Shared Revenue in the amount of
$5,000.00 for.temporary funding.
On motion by Councilman Lee Caldwell, seconded and carried, Council
approved Ordinance No. 1080 amending the budget for 1978 and ordering
appropriations of funds received in excess of estimated revenue and
from unencumbered fund balances.
