Special meeting for the hearing on the 1975 Budget for the City of
Port Orchard, Washington called to order by Mayor Paul D. Powers, Jr.
Council members present; Fulton, Caldwell, Doyle and Geiger.
Councilman Geiger, Chairman of the Finance Committee, reported to
Council on the workings of the Committee and what was accomplished
in the way of balancing the 1975 Budget. The total budget for 1975
is $1,776,034.00, the assessed valuation of the City is $17,621,260
and the amount of each mill is $17,621.00. Also, one mill is alloc-
ated to the Regional Library, 4.4634 mills ($78,651.00) to Street
Fund. It is believed that the �Sales Tax will bring in $140,000.00.
Continued to explain in detail, sources and amounts of revenue.
Current Expense Fund will have $378,614.00. Councilwoman Doyle wanted
further information on the Clerk's salary and also wanted to know
if the salaries are spread into other areas. City Treasurer Lorraine
Carraway explained to Councilwoman Doyle as to how the Clerk's salary
is spread by percentages between respective funds.
Treasurer informed Council of the need for a new calculator. Council
approved the addition of $300.00 in Capital Outlay for a new calculator.
Councilman Geiger moved to adopt the proposed 1975 Budget in the amount
of $1,776,034.00. Seconded by Councilman Caldwell and carried.
