RESOLUTION NO. 2024
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
APPROVING WITH CONDITIONS THE COMPREHENSIVE DESIGN
PLAN FOR THE HIGH POINT SHOPPING CENTER LOCATED AT 1039
BETHEL AVENUE IN PORT ORCHARD WASHINGTON.
TAX ASSESSOR ACCOUNT NO. 362401-2-050-2000
Legal Description: That portion of the north half of the NW Y. of the NW Y.,
Section 36, Township 24 North, Range 1 East.

WHEREAS, the High Point Shopping Center was originally approved as 'The Port Orchard Center"
in March of 197 4; and
WHEREAS, the architecture submitted a Building Permit application to construct fac;ade
improvements to the center now known as the "High Point Shopping Center"; and
WHEREAS, the fac;ade improvements required new business signs; and
WHEREAS, the applicant is using a comprehensive design plan to integrate signs into the
framework of the buildings, landscaping and other design features of the property, utilizing an overall design theme;
and
WHEREAS, on May 19, 2003, the City Council considered the plan under the provisions of POMC
15.16.230, and
WHEREAS, being fully advised, the Council concludes that the plan meets the provisions,
subject to final review and approval of the City Engineer, and finds as follows:
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. The proposal manifests exceptional visual harmony between the sign,
buildings and other components of the subject property through the use of
a consistent design theme;
2. The sign or signs enhance the aesthetics of the subject property and the
surrounding area;
3. The placement of the signs does not obstruct or interfere with any other
sign or property in the area or obstruct natural scenic views; and

4. The plan is aesthetically superior to what could be installed under existing
criteria in the ordinance.
