1980 - Resolution - Appreciation to the Officers and Crew of USS BridgeRESOLUTION NO. 1980
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
EXPRESSING OUR APPRECIATION TO THE OFFICERS AND CREW
OF THE USS BRIDGE.
WHEREAS, Our Nation was attacked on September 11, 2002; and
WHEREAS, Operation Enduring Freedom was our call to arms and required the United
States Navy to once again sail into harms way to defend our citizens; and
\AJHEREAS, the men and women of the USS Brtdge stood forth to take their places and
to perform their duties to unfailingly provide logistic support to the USS John C. Stennis Carrier Battle
Group, now, therefore,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. The citizens of the City of Port Orchard, who are both your fellow
countrymen and your neighbors, truly appreciate your
professional expertise and dedication to duty as part of the Navy
team.
2. We, your neighbors and friends, also know the personal sacrifice
of you and your families which is inherent when your ship is
called to duty and to war.
3. The City of Port Orchard is extremely proud of the men and
women of the USS Bridge and considers it a privilege that we
are part of your homeport community.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 28thday v~002.
