05/25/2021 - MinutesTransportation Committee Minutes Meeting of May 25, 2021 Page 1 of 1 City of Port Orchard Transportation Committee Meeting Minutes May 25, 2021 at 5:00 PM Utility Committee Members; Chair Bek Ashby, Jay Rosapepe and Scott Diener met on May 25, 2021 via Zoom Meeting. Also present: Public Works Director/City Engineer Mark Dorsey, Assistant City Engineer Chris Hammer, Finance Director Noah Crocker, DCD Director Nick Bond, and Mayor Rob Putaansuu. Updates: Bek and Chris provided Committee members with the following project funding updates; • KRCC — Bek reminded the Committee that KRCC Policy and Technical boards would be meeting to discuss grant selection criteria starting in October and that the Committee should review and build consensus around the issues. • PRTPO Meeting — Chris and Bek provided an update on upcoming work items for the PRTPO including: Electric Vehicle Inventory of polices and codes and data gathering for Federal Truck Routes. Bethel Lincoln RAB Project: Mark provided and update following the Finance Committee meeting on the proposal to increase the scope of the project to add a mini RAB at the Lincoln and Mitchell intersection. The Skilling's design amendment is $196,700. The anticipated additional construction cost is $1.1M. The amendment is being recommended for approval at the June 8th City Council Meeting. Old Clifton Non -Motorized Improvement Project: Mayor Rob provided an update on discussions at the Finance Committee and Staffs proposal to reallocate funding from the Old Clifton Non -motorized Improvement Project to cover additional design costs proposed for the Bethel Lincoln RAB project. Bethel Phase 1 Improvement Project: Mark provided an update on the Public Works Trust Board competitive loan program and the possibility of using loans to fund transportation projects. Mayor Rob stated that this issue needed to be discussed more with Council before the Committee discussion and the discussion was tabled.
