A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
APPROVING TEMPORARY PLACEMENT OF SANDWICH BOARDS
ON CITY RIGHT OF WAY, ADVERTISING A FUNDRAISER FOR
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY.
WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity, applicant, has requested approval to place sandwich
board signs at the following locations, for the purpose of advertising an upcoming fundraiser;
(1) Tremont Street across from Texaco and Group Health Complex, and
(2) Westbay traffic island
WHEREAS, the sign would be located as described from February 23, 1999 to March 13,
1999; and
WHEREAS, the City Council supports Habitat for Humanity in their efforts to provide
adequate housing for all members of the community; and
WHEREAS, based on the testimony and materials presented, the City Council does
hereby conclude that approving the temporary signs would not be detrimental to the health, safety, morals
and general welfare of the community and it is in the best interest of the community to allow temporary
placement of the sandwich boards as requested by Habitat for Humanity, applicant, now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
THAT a temporary sandwich board sign to be placed at the above locations as requested
by Habitat for Humanity, applicant, with the following conditions:
(1) The sign shall not adversely affect motorists' sight distance nor impede
pedestrian access.
(2) The sign shall be removed by no later than March 13, 1999.
(3) The sign would comply with the current sign ordinance.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 22nd day of February 1999.
