A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD ESTABLISHING
A POLICY FOR SPECIALTY ROAD SIGNS.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard uses the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices,
MUTCD, for regulating the installation and placement of road signs; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent that the provisions of the MUTCD be the city standard for
traffic control device installation, but not a legal requirement; and
WHEREAS, non-standard or specialty signs may be authorized by the city when
conditions permit deviations from the MUTCD; now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
(1) If the city authorizes the installation of a non -standards sign, the
person requesting the sign may be required to pay for the sign, post,
and a portion of the labor to install the sign.
(2) The approximate cost for a 30" x 30" sign installation is $100.
(3) The city would maintain and replace the sign as necessary and at no
further cost to the applicant, once it has been installed.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 261h day of Ap ' 999.
