A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON DENYING ZONE RECLASSIFICATION OF
CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED 322 CLINE AVENUE
(commonly known as "Millie's Tux and Bridal Store"). THE
PROPERTY OWNERS ARE WILFRED AND MILLIE
CULLIMORE.
WHEREAS, the property owners, Wilfred and Millie Cullimore, have petitioned a
zoning ordinance amendment, requesting reclassification of property located at 322 Cline
Avenue (commonly known as "Millie's Tux and Bridal Store") as described in said petition, and
WHEREAS, The City of Port Orchard Planning Commission has transmitted to the
Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington a copy of their Resolution No. 293-98 -
ATTACHMENT "A" recommending denial of said petition, and
WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Port Orchard did hold a Public Hearing on
September 14, 1998 to hear testimony of fact and conclusion as follows:
WHEREAS, many neighbors spoke in opposition to the rezone stating that the
proposed Commercial General designation would irreparably harm their neighborhood
character.
FINDINGS OF FACT: The requested designation is not compatible
with the existing density of the surrounding neighborhood.
CONCLUSION: Based on testimony, materials presented and
findings of fact, the Port Orchard City Council does hereby conclude
that granting this zone reclassification would be detrimental to the
health, safety, morals and general welfare of the community, now
therefore,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON does hereby
deny this rezone application based on the above findings of fact and conclusion.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 28th day of September, 1998.
