A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, STATING ITS INTENT TO PURCHASE THE
McCORMICK WATER COMPANY
WHEREAS, The City of Port Orchard provides urban services to the
urban area; and
WHEREAS, The City of Port Orchard owns the infrastructure of the
sanitary sewer of McCormick Woods community; and
WHEREAS, The City of Port Orchard is an established purveyor of
water, operates the water system for the City, and has budgeted sufficient
funds to purchase the McCormick Water Company;
THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE:
The City of Port Orchard does seek to purchase
the McCormick Water Company and to become the water
purveyor for the McCormick Woods area. The intent is
that the water systems of McCormick Woods and the City
can be combined to better serve the urban area.
It is expected that negotiations will continue
until the sale of the company is mutually beneficial
to both parties.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard,
APPROVED by the Mayor and attested by the Clerk in authentication of such
passage this loth day of February, 1997.
