A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, APPROVING TEMPORARY PLACEMENT OF A
SANDWICH BOARD TO BE PLACED AT THE BETHEL WYE
TRIANGLE RIGHT OF WAY, ADVERTISING A FUNDRAISER
FOR HABITAT FOR HUMANITY.
WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity, applicant, has requested approval to place a
sandwich board sign at the Bethel Wye triangle right of way, for the purpose of advertising an
upcoming fundraiser; and
WHEREAS, the sign is proposed to be 3.5 feet tall and 4.0 feet wide and
would be located as described from June 10, 1997 through June 21, 1997 only; and
WHEREAS, the City Council supports Habitat for Humanity in their efforts to
provide adequate housing for all members of the community; and
WHEREAS, based on the testimony and materials presented, the City Council
does hereby conclude that approving the temporary sign would not be detrimental to the
health, safety, morals and general welfare of the community and it is in the best interest of
the community to allow temporary placement of the sandwich board as requested by habitat
for Humanity, applicant.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Council of the City of Port
Orchard, Washington does hereby authorize a temporary sandwich board sign to be placed
at the Bethel Wye triangle right of way as requested by Habitat for Humanity, applicant, with
the following conditions:
1. The sign shall not adversely affect motorists' sight distance nor impede
pedestrian access.
2. The sign shall be removed by no later than June 21, 1997.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the
Mayor and attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 9th day of June,
1997.
