1740 - Resolution - Approve Sign in ROW Tremont Village South Kitsap Health Care Campus on TremontRESOLUTION NO. 1740 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON APPROVING THE PLACEMENT OF TWO "TREMONT VILLAGE" (South Kitsap Health Care Campus) DIRECTORY SIGNS ON THE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY .. LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF TREMONT STREET AND SOUTH KITSAP BOULEVARD. WHEREAS, South Kitsap Health Care Campus, applicant, has submitted an application to place two "Tremont Village" directory signs on the Public Right of Way, located at the intersection of Tremont Street and South Kitsap Boulevard; and WHEREAS, South Kitsap Health Care Campus conveyed that their objectives of seeking authorization to place these signs at the requested location are to alleviate traffic congestion, safety concerns, and reduce the number and amount of signage for the site; and WHEREAS, based on the testimony and materials presented the City Council does hereby conclude that approving placement of two "Tremont Village" directory signs would not be detrimental to the health, safety, morals and general welfare of the community; and it is in the best interest of the community to allow installation of the signs as requested by South Kitsap Health Care Campus, applicant. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington does hereby authorize placement of two "Tremont Village" directory signs, at the intersection of Tremont Street and South Kitsap Boulevard as requested by South Kitsap Health Care Campus, applicant, with the following conditions: 1. The signs shall not adversely affect motorists' sight distance. 2. Each sign shall measure, not more than, six feet tall and fourteen feet across. The signs will be externally lit only, except for a neon "open/closed" sign for the Urgent Care Facility. A total of six panels are allows; each panel shall measure, no greater than, 21" x 50" or 7.3 square feet. 3. The signs shall be removed at the owner's expense when future road improvements or other City improvements require it. 4. The owner shall list the City as an additional insured for any accidents or claims involving the signs. The insurance coverage shall be at least $500,000 Bodily Injury and $500,000 Property Damage or $1,000,000 Combined Bodily Injury and Property Damage. Proof of this coverage in the form of a Certificate of Insurance with an endorsement by the insurance carrier shall be submitted to the City Clerk prior to installation of the signs. Resolution No. 1740 Page Two of Two 5. The agreement is only for the specific sign as shown in Exhibit A. Any change of modification in the sign would require a new agreement.
