RESOLUTION NO. 1631 V
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
AUTHORIZING A MORATORUM ON THE EXPANSION AND
INSTALLATION OF BILLBOARDS
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard regulates signs advertising off premise
WHEREAS, the City seeks to maintain an aesthetic quality of the community, and
WHEREAS, the City Council established a temporary moratorium in 1989 with
Resolution 1507.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved by the City Council of the City of Port
Orchard:
THAT: The following moratorium is hereby established and shall remain in effect
until further notice:
1. No permits shall be issued for new signs on private property that advertise
off premise businesses.
2. Existing signs may be maintained and repaired by permit, but not enlarged
or relocated.
3. No existing billboard shall be reconstructed or shall have repairs completed
in excess of 24% of the billboard's value.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the Mayor
and attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 8th day of March, 1993.
