A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON SETTING
FORTH FACTS, FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS RELEVANT TO THE APPEAL
TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION'S RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE
OLYMPIC TERRACE APARTMENT ZONE RECLASSIFICATION APPLICATION
AS FILED BY MARY J. URBACK ON BEHALF OF THE SOUTH KITSAP
SCHOOL DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the applicant's have requested a land use reclassification for
a 207 apartment project, known as Olympic Terrace.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on September 8, 1993
on the application for land use reclassification and recommended approval, and
WHEREAS, the South Kitsap School District appealed the Planning
Commission's Findings that the proposed land use reclassification would not make
excessive demands on area schools, and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on October 11, 1993 to
decide on the appeal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ORCHARD FINDS THAT:
I. The Planning Commission heard testimony and facts pertaining to the
Olympic Terrace project.
2. The Planning Commission acted accordingly, with public discussion,
on the impacts of the Olympic Terrace project.
CONCLUSION: The appeal of the Planning Commission's recommendation filed by the South
Kitsap School District is denied. The Port Orchard Planning Commission
complied with all requirements stipulated in the Zoning Ordinance.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the
Mayor and attested by the Clerk in authentication of u h passage this 25th day of
October, 1993.
