A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD TO PLACE A
MORATORIUM ON THE EXPANSION AND INSTALLATION OF
BILLBOARDS
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard regulates signs advertising
off premise business, and
WHEREAS, The City seeks to maintain an aesthetic quality of
the community,
THEREFORE, It is resolved by the City Council of the City of
Port Orchard:
THAT: The following moratorium is in effect as of the date of
this resolution, until further notice:
1. No permits shall be issued for new signs on private
property that advertise off premise businesses.
2. Existing signs may be maintained and repaired by permit,
but not enlarged or relocated.
3. The Planning Commission review existing policies of the
City concerning billboards and recommend revisions to the
appropriate ordinances.
4. This moratorium shall be reviewed by the City Council
after one year if the Planning Commission has not
completed its review at that time.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard,
APPROVED by the Mayor and attested by the Clerk in authentication of such
passage this loth day of April, 1989.
