A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT
ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, ESTABLISHING A
SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, The City of Port Orchard has several
neighborhoods with deteriorated concrete sidewalks;
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved that the City
Engineer will identify a segment of existing concrete
sidewalks that should be either substantially repaired or
replaced and so notify the Street Committee of the City
Council.
If the Street Committee concurs with the City
Engineer's recommendation, the Committee may recommend the
maintenance action to the City Council for approval.
Upon City Council approval, the City Engineer
will implement the required maintenance using the existing
budget funds. This specified routine maintenance shall be
accomplished at no cost to the abutting property owner.
This procedure is for maintenance of existing
sidewalks only and shall not be used for the construction of
new sidewalks. Nor does this procedure supercede the
requirements and responsibilities as specified in Chapter
12.12 of the Port Orchard Municipal Code (Sidewalk
Maintenance).
PASSED by the City Council of the City of
Port Orchard, APPROVED by the Mayor and attested by the
Clerk in authentication of such passage this 27th day of
June, 1988.
