RESOLUTION NO. 1360
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ORCHARD REQUESTING THAT THE STATE OF WASHINGTON VACATE
THE ENTIRE DEKALB STREET WATERWAY TO THE CITY.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE THAT:
WHEREAS; the DeKalb Street Waterway was established under the
authority of the State of Washington and is under the authority of the Department
of Natural Resources; and
WHEREAS the Dekalb Street Waterway can better serve the public
by not .being excavated nor by being used for navigation; and
WHEREAS; the DeKalb Street Waterway has been identified in the
Port Orchard Downtown Revitalization Plan as a potential site for a pedistrian
pier and the City has designed and budgeted for said pier;
NOW, THEREFORE,- the City Council of the City of Port Orchard
hereby resolves to request that the entire Dekalb Street Waterway be vacated
-to the City to enhance public access to Sinclair Inlet:
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor of the City
of Port Orchard this. v day of 1984.
