ORDINANCE
The following is a summary of an Ordinance approved by the Port Orchard City Council at their
regular Council meeting held January 25, 1999.
ORDINANCE NO. 1753
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, VACATING A PORTION OF AN UNNAMED
ALLEY LYING SOUTH OF MELCHER STREET AND BETWEEN
SHERMAN AVENUE ON THE WEST AND HOWARD AVENUE
ON THE EAST, AS SUBMITTED BY CHUCK CHILDRESS,
PETITIONER.
Copies of Ordinance No. 1753 are available for review at the office of the City
Clerk of the City of Port Orchard. Upon written request a statement of the full text
of the Ordinance will be mailed to any interested person without charge. Thirty
days after publication, copies of Ordinance No. 1753 will be provided at a nominal
charge.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON
VACATING A PORTION OF AN UNNAMED ALLEY LYING SOUTH OF
MELCHER STREET AND BETWEEN SHERMAN AVENUE ON THE
WEST AND HOWARD AVENUE ON THE EAST, AS SUBMITTED BY
CHUCK CHILDRESS, PETITIONER.
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing on a Petition to Vacate a portion of an unnamed alley lying
south of Melcher Street and between Sherman Avenue on the west and Howard Avenue on the east, further
described as follows, in accordance with RCW 35.79.035 was held Monday, September 14, 1998 at 7:35 PM
in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 216 Prospect Street, Port Orchard, Washington, and
WHEREAS, the City Council did approve the Petition to Vacate a portion of an unnamed
alley lying south of Melcher Street and between Sherman Avenue on the west and Howard Avenue on the
east, as presented by Chuck Childress, and
WHEREAS, the Petitioner has submitted compensation as set by the City, now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
THAT a portion of an unnamed alley lying south of Melcher Street and between Sherman
Avenue on the west and Howard Avenue on the east, is vacated as requested in Petition to Vacate as
submitted by Chuck Childress, described as follows:
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: That portion of the alley as shown on the face of the Plat of
Sidney Villa Addition to Sidney as per Plat recorded in Volume 2 of Plats Page 46 records of Kitsap
County between Lots 1 through 14 Block 1 of said Plat and Lots 1 through 14 Block 2 of said Plat.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Or d, SIGNED by the Mayor and attested
by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 25th day of Jan , 1999.
