ORDINANCE
The following is a summary of an Ordinance approved by the Port Orchard City Council at their
regular Council meeting held June 28, 1999.
ORDINANCE NO. 1763
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING TRANSFERS FROM THE
CURRENT EXPENSE FUND TO THE SIX YEAR EMERGENCY
MEDICAL LEVY FUND TO COVER THE SHORTFALL OF
PROPERTY TAX COLLECTION.
Copies of Ordinance No. 1763 are available for review at the office of the City
Clerk of the City of Port Orchard. Upon written request a statement of the full text
of the Ordinance will be mailed to any interested person without charge. Thirty
days after publication, copies of Ordinance No. 1763 will be provided at a nominal
charge.

ORDINANCE NO. 1763
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING TRANSFERS FROM THE
CURRENT EXPENSE FUND TO THE SIX -YEAR EMERGENCY
MEDICAL LEVY FUND TO COVER THE SHORTFALL OF
PROPERTY TAX COLLECTION
WHEREAS: the City of Port Orchard has entered into an Advanced Life Support Services
Agreement to pay Kitsap Fire Protection District No. 7 the sum of fifty cents ($.50) per thousand dollars
($1,000.00) of property value located within the City of Port Orchard; and
WHEREAS, 100% of the property taxes from the Emergency Medical Services Levy are
not collected, because of delinquencies, therefore creating a shortfall of revenue in the Six -Year
Emergency Medical Levy Fund to make the contracted semi-annual payments; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard and Kitsap Fire Protection District No. 7 have concurred
that payment will be based upon the contract terms, now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to transfer the money needed to
make up the difference between the amount of revenue collected in the Emergency Medical Levy Fund vs.
the contracted semi-annual payments.
SECTION 2. This amount will be transferred from the Current Expense Fund to the
Six -Year Emergency Medical Levy Fund.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 28th day J 1999.
