AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD
REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1556 AND ADOPTING
THE 1997 UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance Number 1556 (Port Orchard Municipal Code
15.08) is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. ADOPTION OF THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE. The 1997
Edition of the International Association of Plumbing and Officials Uniform Plumbing Code is
adopted by reference pursuant to the provisions of RCW 35.21.180 as the official Plumbing
Code of the City. One copy of such Code is on file in the office of the City Clerk. The Building
Official shall be the Administrative Authority as referenced in the Plumbing Code.
SECTION 3. PENALTY FOR VIOLATION. Any person, firm or corporation
violating any provisions of this code shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon
conviction thereof, shall be punishable by a fine not to exceed three hundred dollars or by
imprisonment for a term not to exceed ninety days, or by both fine and imprisonment. Each
separate day or any portion thereof during which any violation of this code occurs or continues
shall be deemed to constitute a separate offense and, upon conviction thereof, shall be
punishable as provided in this section.

Copies of Ordinance No. 1727 are available for review at the office of the City
Clerk of the City of Port Orchard. Upon written request a statement of the full text
of the Ordinance will be mailed to any interested person without charge. Thirty
days after publication, copies of Ordinance No. 1727 will be provided at a nominal
charge.
