1571 - Ordinance - Amending Comp PlanF"4X S m-� -91/0 19- NOTICE OF CITY OF PORT ORCHARD ORDINANCE The following is a summary of an Ordinance approved by the Port Orchard City Council at their regular Council meeting held March 8, 1993. ORDINANCE NO, 1571 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, AMENDING PORT ORCHARD COMPREHENSIVE PLAN ORDINANCE NO. 895; BY AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN MAP DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES THEREIN. (Property located in the 400 block of Tremont Street West; East of SR 16, Between Tremont Street and Pottery Avenue.) Copies of Ordinance No. 1571 are available for review at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Port Orchard. Upon written request a statement of the full text of the Ordinance will be mailed to any interested person without charge. Thirty days after publication, copies of Ordinance No. 1571 will be provided at a nominal charge. Olson and Associates, representing the South Kitsap Health Care Campus, has initiated a comprehensive plan ordinance amendment requesting redesignation of property described in said petition, and all legal requirements have been performed; and WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard Planning Commission has transmitted to the Council of the City of Port Orchard their findings and recommendations, Planning Commission Resolution No. 192-93 - ATTACHMENT "A". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, that the City Council of the City of Port Orchard does hereby adopt the findings and recommendations of the Port Orchard Planning Commission as it's own and does hereby redesignate certain property on the Comprehensive Plan Map designation from Residential Low to Multiple Family 20 and Commercial General. LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Exhibit A WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on 9 December 1992 and continued to 14 January 1993 and the Planning commission considered the findings and facts of the proposal, testimony and materials presented at the hearing; and WHEREAS, a SEPA checklist for the South Kitsap Health Care Campus has been submitted and received a Declaration of Nonsignificance; and WHEREAS, the proposed land use designations of Multiple Family 20 and Commercial General are in harmony and are consistent with the designation of the adjacent properties; WE THEREFORE FIND: that the proposed land use reclassification to both Multiple Family 20 and Commercial General are compatible with surrounding land uses and will not have a detrimental effect on adjacent properties. CONCLUSION, based on the facts, testimony, and materials presented at the hearing, we therefore conclude that the amendment of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan designation from Residential Low to Multiple Family 20 and Commercial General is in harmony with the general purposes of the zoning ordinance and surrounding comprehensive plan designations. BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of the City of Port orchard hereby respectfully requests that the City Council approve a change in the designation of Multiple Family 20 and Commercial General for the above described property.
