AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON AMENDING PORT ORCHARD ZONING
ORDINANCE NO. 1469; CHAPTER 5, SECTION(s)
5.3(A,1); 5.3(A2,L); 5.6(B,6); 5.7(B,5); 5.8;
RELATING TO LANDSCAPE STANDARDS FOR COMMERCIAL
DEVELOPMENTS, INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENTS, PUBLIC
PROPERTY DEVELOPMENTS AND RELATING TO USES
PERMITTED UPON ISSUANCE OF A SPECIAL USE
PERMIT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON
DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 1469 (Zoning Ordinance)
Chapter 5, Section 5.3 (A,1) shall be amended to read as follows:
REMOVE:
5.3
A1(h).
Public
Buildings
ADD:
5.3
A2(1).
Public
buildings and parking lots.
SECTION 2. THAT Ordinance No. 1469 (Zoning Ordinance)
Chapter 5, Section 5.6 (6,6), shall be amended to read as follows:
REMOVE: 5.6 B6 YARDS: None Required
ADD: 5.6 B6 YARDS: For Commercial General
zonelandscape and setback requirements,
see Chapter 5, Section 5.5 (B.5;
D-1).
NOTE: Properties located between 624 Bay St and
Harrison Avenue are exempt from landscape
requirements.
SECTION 3. THAT Ordinance No. 1469 (Zoning Ordinance)
Chapter 5, Section 5.7 (B,5) shall be amended to read as follows:
ADD: C. LANDSCAPING: Refer to Section 5.5 (B,5; D-1)
for landscape requirements.

SECTION 4. THAT Ordinance No. 1469 (Zoning Ordinance)
Chapter 5, Section 5.8 shall be amended to read as follows:
ADD: A. DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS
1. LANDSCAPING: For Public Property yard and
landscape requirements, see Chapter 5,
Section 5.5 (B,5; D-1).
2. OFF STREET PARKING: Any construction and/or
development of vehicle stalls or parking lots
for purposes of providing offsite public
parking shall require a Special Use Permit
(SUP). Public parking located directly
adjacent to government buildings also require
a SUP; EXCEPT if reviewed through a separate
land use application.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard,
SIGNED by the Mayor and attested by the Clerk in authentication of
such passage this 24th day of February, 1992.
