The following is a summary of an Ordinance approved by the Port
Orchard City Council at their regular Council meeting held July
la, 1992.
ORDINANCE NO. 1553
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CALLING OF A
SPECIAL ELECTION OF THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF
THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD FOR SEPTEMBER 15,
1992, PURSUANT TO RCW 84.52.069, TO LEVY A
SIX YEAR TAX ESTIMATED AT $.50 PER THOUSAND
OF ASSESSED VALUATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PAYING PORT ORCHARD'S SHARE OF EMERGENCY
MEDICAL SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF PORT
ORCHARD.
Copies of Ordinance No. 1553 are available for review at the
office of the City Clerk of the City of Port Orchard. Upon
written request a statement of the full text of the Ordinance
will be mailed to any interested person without charge. Thirty
days after publication, copies of Ordinance No. 1553 will be
provided at a nominal charge.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE CALLING OF A
SPECIAL ELECTION OF THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS
OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD FOR SEPTEMBER
15, 1992, PURSUANT TO RCW 84.52.069, TO LEVY
A SIX YEAR TAX ESTIMATED AT $.50 PER
THOUSAND OF ASSESSED VALUATION FOR THE
PURPOSE OF PAYING PORT ORCHARD'S SHARE OF
EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF
PORT ORCHARD.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Port Orchard
finds that it is necessary to levy a tax estimated at $.50 per
thousand of assessed valuation for each of the years 1993-1999
in addition to the regular $3.375 per thousand of assessed
valuation allowed by law, for the purpose of paying Port
Orchard's share of Emergency Medical Services for the City of
Port Orchard.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby ordained by the Council
of the City of Port Orchard as follows:
Section 1. That there be submitted to the qualified
electors of the City of Port Orchard, at a Primary Election to
be held September 15, 1992, in all precincts within said City
the proposition whether the City Council shall be authorized
to levy a tax estimated at $.50 per thousand of assessed
valuation for each of the years 1993-1999, in addition to the
regular $3.375 per thousand of assessed valuation allowed by
law, in an amount sufficient to raise funds for each of the
years 1993-1999 for the purpose of paying Port Orchard's share
of Emergency Medical Services for the City of Port Orchard.
Section 2. That the Clerk of the City of Port
Orchard be and she hereby is authorized to certify to the
Kitsap County Auditor the propositions to be voted on by the
electors at said election:
PROPOSITION
Shall the City Council of the City of Port Orchard be
authorized to levy an additional tax estimated at $.50 per
thousand of assessed valuation for each of the years
1993-1999, sufficient to raise funds each year, for the
purpose of paying Port Orchard's share of 1993-1999 Emergency
Medical Services for the City of Port Orchard.

Section 3: That the Port Orchard City Council hereby
request that the Kitsap County Auditor give the Notice of
Special Election and supervise the details thereof;
Section 4: That this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect after its passage and publication according
to law.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port
Orchard and signed by the Mayor and attested by the Clerk in
authentication of such passage this 13th day of July, 1992.
