1566 - Ordinance - City Commission MembersNOTICE OF CITY OF PORT ORCHARD ORDINANCE The following is a summary of an Ordinance approved by the Port Orchard City Council at their regular Council meeting held December 28, 1992. ORDINANCE NO. 1566 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1129 AND PORT ORCHARD MUNICIPAL CODE 2.20.010, 2.24.020 AND 2.26.020 TO PROVIDE FOR ONE MEMBER OF EACH CITY COMMISSION OR BOARD TO BE A NON-RESIDENT OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD AND ALSO ALLOWING SPECIAL APPOINTMENTS BY COUNCIL RESOLUTION. Copies of Ordinance No. 1566 are available for review at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Port Orchard. Upon written request a statement of the full text of the Ordinance will be mailed to any interested person without charge. Thirty days after publication, copies of Ordinance No. 1566 will be provided at a nominal charge. City of Port orchard Michelle Hager Deputy Clerk Publish: Port Orchard Independent January 6, 1993 ORDINANCE NO. 1566 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASH INGTON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1129 AND PORT ORCHARD MUNICIPAL CODE 2.20.010, 2.24.020 AND 2.26.020 TO PROVIDE FOR ONE MEMBER OF EACH C I TY COMM I SS I ON OR BOARD TO BE A NON- RESIDENT OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD AND ALSO ALLOWING SPECIAL APPOINTMENTS BY COUNCIL RESOLUTION THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DOES ORDAIN: Port Orchard Municipal Code, Sections 2.20.010, 2.24.020 and 2.26.020 are amended to read a follows; SECTION 1. 2.20.010 Planning Commission created. Pursuant to RCW Chapter 35.63, there is created a city planning commission, which shall consist of eight members appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the city council, seven (7) shall be residents of the City and one (1) may be a non-resident of the City of Port Orchard EXCEPT the Mayor and City Council may by Council Resolution temporarily extend the term of a commissioner who during their term moves out of the city to provide for continuity of specific projects or planning processes. SECTION 2. 2.20.010 Board of Park Commissioners created --Membership. There is created a board of park commissioners, consisting of three members, of which two (2) shall be residents of the City and one (1) may be a non-resident of the City of Port Orchard, who shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the consent of the city council, from citizens of recognized fitness for such positions. No commission shall receive any compensation for his services. SECTION 3. 2.26.020 Board of Trustees --Appointment. The Port Orchard city library shall be managed and controlled by a board of five trustees who shall be appointed by the mayor with the consent of the city council, of which four (4) shall be residents of the City and one (1) may be a non-resident of the City of Port Orchard. The first appointments to the board of library trustees shall be for terms of one, two, three, four and five years respectively, and thereafter a trustee shall be appointed annually to service for five years.
