HomeMy WebLinkAbout1506 - Ordinance - Amending Zoning Ord - Intersection of Lawrence & Arnold StreetsORDINANCE NO. 1506 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON AMENDING PORT ORCHARD ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1469; BY AMENDING THE AREA AND USE MAPS THEREOF, RECLASSIFYING CERTAIN PROPERTY (Port of Bremerton, owner of record) LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF LAWRENCE AND ARNOLD STREETS. WHEREAS, The Port of Bremerton, owner of record, has petitioned a zoning ordinance amendment, requesting reclassification of property located at the intersection of Lawrence and Arnold Streets as described in said petition, and WHEREAS, The City of Port Orchard Planning Commission has transmitted to the Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington a copy of their Resolution No. 162-90 - ATTACHMENT "A" recommending approval of said petition, and WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Port Orchard did hold a Public Hearing on January 14, 1991 to hear testimony of fact and conclusion as follows: FINDINGS OF FACT: The use requested is compatible with other uses in area. The proposed use is a permitted use within Commercial General Zoning. CONCLUSION: Based on testimony, materials presented and findings of fact, the Port Orchard City Council does hereby conclude that granting this zone reclassification would not be detrimental to the health, safety, morals and general welfare of the community. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained that the Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington does hereby adopt Planning Commission Resolution No. 162-90 with Findings of Facts and recommended conditions as their own and does hereby reclassify certain property from Residential High tc Commercial General. LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Tax Parcel 4027-028-006-0006 (Creek: Lot 6, Block 28, Annapolis, as per Plat recorded in Volume 1 of Plats, pages 64 and 65, records of Kitsap County, Washington and that portion of vacated Arnold Street per Co. 16-589 lying adjacent to Lot 6, Block 28, Plat of Annapolis as recorded in Volume 1 of Plats, pages 64 and 65, records of Kitsap County, Washington, described as follows: Beginning at the most easterly corner of said Lot 6; thence southeasterly on a line extending the northerly boundary of said Lot 6 a Ordinance No. 1506 Page Two distance of 23 feet; thence southwesterly parallel to the easterly line of Lot 6 a distance of 63 feet; thence northwesterly parallel to the northerly line of Lot 6 a distance of 23 feet; thence northeasterly along said line of Lot 6 a distance of 63 feet to the true point of beginning.
