1372 - Ordinance - Special Assessment 810 Bay StreetORDINANCE NO. 1372 ✓ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD ESTABLISHING A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT AGAINST PROPERTY LOCATED AT 810 BAY STREET IN PORT ORCHARD FOR REPAIRS TO THE BUILDING LOCATED THEREON WHEREAS, the building located at 810 Bay Street, Port Orchard, Washington, and legally described as follows: The west 25 feet of Lot 3, Block 12, First Addition to Sidney, according to plat recorded in Volume 1 of Plats, Page 10 in Kitsap County, Washington has been found to be a dangerous building pursuant to the Uniform Code,for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings; and WHEREAS, the owner of said real property failed to abate the dangerous building in accordance with the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings; and WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard has caused the repairs to be done and completed at said property at a total cost of $18,590.64; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Orchard has reviewed the itemized report of the expenses for the repair filed by the City Engineer; and WHEREAS, the City Council of Port Orchard has held a public hearing on the amount of the charge for the repairs and has found that the charges should be confirmed, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DOES ORDAIN as follows: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Port Orchard does hereby confirm the report of the City Engineer and the charges for repairs in the amount of $18,590.64 to the building located at 810 Bay Street, Port Orchard, Washington, and legally described as follows: Ordinance No. 1372 Page Two The west 25 feet of Lot 3, Block 12 First Addition to Sidney, according to plat recorded in Volume I of Plats, Page 10 in Kitsap County, Washington Section 2. There is hereby established a special assessment against the real property legally described herein above in the amount of $18,590.64 pursuant to the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings as adopted by the City of Port Orchard. Payment of such special assessment shall be in five equal annual payments as provided in Resolution No. 1439. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to immediately file a certified copy of this ordinance establishing the special assessment against the subject property with the County Auditor. Section 4. The County Treasurer is hereby directed to collect the amount of the special assessment in the same time and in the same manner as ordinary property taxes are collected.
