AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT
ORCHARD ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES
FOR THE REGULATION AND CONTROL OF
USE OF WATER DURING AN EMERGENCY
AND ESTABLISHING PENALTIES FOR
VIOLATION OF SUCH,REGULATIONS AND
CONTROLS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Whenever an emergency exists affecting
the water supply of the city and it becomes necessary to
curtail the use of water through regulation and control of
the use thereof, the Mayor shall declare such an emergency
and notice of such emergency shall be published in the offical
newspaper by the City Clerk, setting forth rules under which
water shall be used, providing for such zones for use of the
water as may be necessary or advisable, and setting forth hours
during which sprinkling for lawn or garden irrigation may be
done, and setting forth any other restrictions on the use of
water as may be deemed necessary for the welfare of the
inhabitants of the city and other users of city water. Such
notice and the regulations established thereby shall be subject
to change and shall be in fullforce and effect throughout the
emergency and shall continue until notice is published that the
emergency has passed, and any changes in such regulations as
published shall likewise be so published before taking effect.
Section 2. Any person, firm or corporation
violating any provision of this chaptershall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and on conviction thereof shall be punished by
fine in a sum not exceeding five hundred dollars or by
imprisonment not to exceed ninety days or by both such fine
and imprisonment.
