AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PORT ORCHARD
MUNICIPAL CODE 2.20.010, 2.24.020
AND 2.26.020 TO PROVIDE FOR ONE
MEMBER OF EACH CITY COMMISSION OR
BOARD TO BE A NON-RESIDENT OF THE
CITY OF PORT ORCHARD
THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DOES ORDAIN:
Port Orchard Municipal Code, Sections
2.24.020 and 2.26.020 are amended to read as
2.20.010 Planning commission created. Pursuant
to RCW Chapter 35.63, there is created a city planning
commission, which shall consist of eight members appointed
by the mayor and confirmed by the city council, seven (7)
shall be residents of the City and one (1) may be a non-
resident of the City of Port Orchard.
2.24.020 Board of park commissioners created --
Membership. There is created a board of commissioners,
consisting of three members, of which two (2) shall be
residents of the City and one (1) may be a non-resident of
the City of Port Orchard, who shall be appointed by the
mayor, with the consent of the city council, from citizens
of recongnized fitness for such positions. No commissioner
shall receive any compensation for his services.
2.26.020 Board of trustees --Appointment. The
Port Orchard city library shall be managed and controlled
by a board of five trustees who shall be appointed by the
mayor with the consent of the city council, of which four
(4) shall be residents of the City and one (1) may be a
non-resident of the City of Port Orchard. The first
appointments to the board of library trustees shall be for
terms of one, two, three, four and five years respectively,
and thereafter a trustee shall be appointed annually to
serve for five years.
