03/13/2020 - City of Port Orchard Preventative Measures REVISED PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 13, 2020 City of Port Orchard Preventative Measures PORT ORCHARD, WA – According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the COVID-19 virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person: Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet). Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Based on the information available to the City of Port Orchard from the CDC, we will be exercising caution and taking extra measures to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Creating distance between yourself and other people is a measure to further reduce your risk of being exposed to this new virus. The City staff will make every effort to help by phone and/or email while attempting to reduce the amount of interaction which may lead to the spread of COVID-19. If you have a question related to planning, building or development please consider calling DCD at 360.874.5533 or emailing at planning@cityofportorchard.us instead of making an in-person visit to the office. If you want to apply for a permit, please consider doing so by mail. We will take some applications electronically. Please contact the Permit Center at permitcenter@cityofportorchard.us, or by calling 360-874-5533 to see if this is an option for your type of permit. If you wish to make a utility payment, please consider visiting our website to make your payment online. For assistance please contact our Finance Department at 360-876-5139. The Police department is suspending fingerprinting activity. If you’re in need of assistance from our Public Works Department, please contact them at 360-876-4991 or email them at Publicworks@Cityofportorchard.us If you have general business with the City, please consider calling 360-876-4407 to see if we can assist you over the phone.
