Community Support for Jedi Minters
PORT ORCHARD, WA – The City of Port Orchard is honored to help celebrate the life of 3-year old Jedi Minters who has been fighting leukemia for the last year and a half. After many treatments
of chemo, radiation, and completing his second transplant in hopes of a cure, sadly, the leukemia is still present, and his care team has given him only months to live.
Jedi has a passion for trucks, cars, emergency, and other similar vehicles. His father has reached out, asking if he could bring Jedi by to see the vehicles the City operates. He mentioned
to a three-year old’s point of view, “they are all real City heroes”. To the City of Port Orchard, Jedi is the real hero, and we are truly humbled that Jedi’s family has reached out
to us.
You are invited to join us and other organizations and first responders from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, in the Port of Bremerton boat launch across from City Hall, as
we celebrate life, love, and big trucks with Jedi. We ask that if you are sick, please do not attend, as we do not want Jedi exposed to illness. Additionally, as the vehicles are intended
for Jedi and his family to tour only, and for health and safety concerns, we ask that general public please stay outside the sectioned off area. Please see map below.
The City would like to offer our sincerest appreciation to the Port of Bremerton for their support and cooperation in allowing the use of the boat launch parking lot, and also a special
thanks to all the organizations and individuals who have helped make this a special day for Jedi.
