Description of Work
The supplement is for the authorization of additional cost for a Council requested re-evaluation of signals versus
roundabouts.
The Local Agency of City of Port Orchard
desires to supplement the agreement entered into with BERGER/ABAM Engineers, Inc.
and executed on 8/20/2005 and identified as Agreement No. STPUS-6601 (004)
All provisions in the basic agreement remain in effect except as expressly modified by this supplement.
The changes to the agreement are described as follows:
Section 1, SCOPE OF WORK, is hereby changed to read:
See attached Fxhihit A-1.

Section IV, TIME FOR BEGINNING AND COMPLETION, is amended to change the number of calendar days for
completion of the work to read: Completion date is revised to September 30, 2009
III
Section V, PAYMENT, shall be amended as follows:
S15,000 shall he added to Task I for "Traffic Analysis "
as set forth in the attached Exhibit A, and by this reference made a part of this supplement.

SCOPE OF SERVICES
(PREPARATION OF MATERIAL FOR CITY COUNCIL DECISION ON SIGNALS VS. ROUNDABOUTS)
TREMONT STREET WIDENING
(SR 16 to Port Orchard Blvd.)
The services were furnished by BERGER/ABAM Engineers Inc. (hereinafter referred to as the
CONSULTANT), as requested by the Director of Public Works of the City of Port Orchard
(hereinafter referred to as the AGENCY).
The CONSULTANT provided the following services, which are either, expanded scope from the
original scope of work, or represent additional out -of -scope services.
Additional Engineering Effort Performed to Support Council Decision on Roundabouts Verses
Signalized Intersections
The following tasks were requested by the AGENCY to compare signals verses roundabouts at
the intersections along Tremont, in support of City Council evaluation and action. This task
covers the completed items below.
■ Produce graphics showing entire project with both roundabouts and signals
■ Produce graphics for intersections showing both roundabouts and signals
■ Produce graphic showing the right-of-way difference between roundabouts and signals
■ Produce graphics using the program AutoTum, showing both fire truck and WB-50 truck
movements through the roundabouts
■ Produce summary costs for the following conditions
— All roundabouts
— All signals
— Signal at Pottery, roundabout at South Kitsap
The completion date has been changed to 9/30/08 (from 6/30/08) to provide time to scope, price,
negotiate and execute a future supplement to finalize the project configuration and to complete
the PS&E for this project.
