1159 - Resolution - Approving an Excess LevyRESOLUTION NO: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD APPROVING AN EXCESS LEVY. WHEREAS,the:City of Port Orchard desires to participate in the purchase and operation of; two new ambulances :to be used within the South.Kitsap area; and WHEREAS, the City Council feels that the voters of the City of Port Orchard shall decide whether or not they approve of this participation; 'therefore 4 BE IT, AND IT`HEREBY.IS, RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 'PORT ORCHARD AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That there be submitted to the qualified electors of the City of Port Orchard, at the Special Election to be held September 17, 1976 in all precincts within -said -City, the proposition whether the City Council shall be authorized to levy a tax for the year 1977, in addition to the regular $3.375 per thousand of assessed valuation allowed by law, in an amount sufficient to raise the sum of $12,450.00 to assist in the purchase and operation of two new ambulances; and that the necessary additional dollars per thousand of assessed valuation is estimated to be $0.30. Section 2. That.the Clerk of the City of Port Orchard be and he hereby is authorized to certify to the Kitsap County Auditor the propositions to be voted on by the electors at said election: PROPOSITION Shall the -City Council of the City of Port Orchard be authorized to levy an additional tax, estimated at $0.30 per thousand of assessed valuation, sufficient to raise $12,450.00 for the purchase and operation of two new ambulances? YES NO Section 3. That the said City Council hereby requests the Kitsap County Auditor to give the Notice of Special Election and to supervise the details thereof,.that this Resolution shall be in full force and effect after its passage.
