ORDHARD, EXPRESSING AN OBJECTION TO THE PROPOSED
LEASING OF STATE LANDS FOR COMMERCIAL OIL DRILLING
AND -EXPLORATION
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard,
Washington, as follows:
Section (1) That the City Council of the City of Port
Orchard, Washington, does hereby express its
objection to the proposed leasing of State lands in and about Puget
Sound for commercial oil drilling and exploration for the re son that
such activity will create a grave danger that the waters and beaches
of Puget Sound shall become fouled and polluted.
Section (2) That The City Clerk of the City of Port
Orchard is hereby directed to send copies of
this Resolution to the Governor of the State of Washington and to the
Commissioner of Public Lands of the State of Washington.
