1062A - Resolution - Adopting Numbering SystemRESOLUTION NO. 10652 A A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING A HOUSE NUMBERING SYSTEM DESIGNED AND PROPOSED BY PORT ORCHARD JAY -GEES WHEREAS, The Port Orchard Jay-Cees, a community minded and civic organization, has designed and proposed a uniform house numbering system for the City of Port Orchard; and WHEREAS, The proposed system follows as closely as possible, the "grid" system approved and recommended by the Association of Washington Cities; and WHEREAS, The adoption of such a numbering system is believed to be in the best interests of the orderly growth of the city; Now, Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that the below described system of designating house and business establishment identification street numbers be adopted: 1. (a) The "zero" line for streets extending east and west (including southeast - northwest streets) will be Sherman Street. (b) Dwellings and other structures on such streets west of Sherman Avenue will bear the geogra- phical designation "West after the street name. Those on such streets east of Sherman Street will bear no geographical designation. (c) Odd numbers will be used on north side of the street and even numbers on the south side. 2. (a) The "zero" line for streets extending north and and south will be a line extending parallel to Bay Street approximately 200 feet north of the present shore line of Sinclair inlet from Sherman Avenue on the west to Mitchell Avenue on the east, thence southeast to Morton Street (Division Street), thence along the center of the said street to the easterly city limits. (b) Dwellings and other structures on such streets extending northeast of Morton Street (Division Street) will bear the geographical -1- designation "North" after the street name. Those on such streets south of the "zero" line will bear no geographic designation. (c) Odd numbers will be used on the east side of the street and even numbers on the west side. 3. Numbers will be allocated 100 to the average city block, whether the cross streets actually.exist or not.
