A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
PETITIONING THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION
AND REQUESTING A HEARING ON LOWER FREIGHT
RATES ON THE TACOMA NARROWS BRIDGE ROUTE.
WHEREAS, the tolls on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge have now
been removed, and the costs of freight involving the use of the said Tacoma
Narrows Bridge have been reduced. by this amount, and the rates should
therefore be reduced;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Port Orchard
that the Public Service Commission of the State of Washington be, and it
hereby is, asked and petitioned to fix a hearing, pursuant to law, for the
purpose of reducing the freight rates by the amount saved by the removal
of the tolls on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.
