RESOLUTION NO. ' ' i
Resolution of the City of Port -Orchard approving the in-
clusion of the City of Port Orchard in a proposed park and
recreation district, provided that the City of Port Orchard
shall not surrender jurisdiction over its present parks and
recreation facilities, and those to be acquired by the City
of Port Orchard in the future, to the said park and recrea-
tion district, and further provided that the City of Port
Orchard shall not be obligated to provide funds for the
maintenance of any park and recreation facilities con-
structed by the park and recreation district. .
WHEREAS, a petition is being circulated in South Kitsap County for
the formation of a park and recreation district for the primary purpose of con-
structi.ng a swimming pool for the benefit of the South Kitsap area; and
WHEREAS, before the City of Port Orchard may be included in said
park and recreation district, it is necessary for the City Council of the City
of Port Orchard to pass upon a resolution approving the inclusion of the City
of Port Orchard in the said park and recreation district; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Orchard has no ob-
jection to being included in a park and recreation district, provided that the
City of Port Orchard maintains jurisdiction over its present parks and recrea-
tion facilities and the parks and recreation facilities to be acquired by the City
of Port Orchard within its corporate limits in the future, and further provided
that the City of Port Orchard is not obligated in any manner to provide funds
for the maintenance of the swimming pool or other parks or recreation facilities
to be constructed by the said park and recreation district;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT HEREBY IS RESOLVED by the
City Council of the City of Port Orchard that the City of Port Orchard may be

included within the proposed park and recreation district for South Kitsap
County, for the primary purpose of constructing a swimming pool for the
benefit of South Kitsap County, provided, however, that the City of Fort
Orchard shall not by this act surrender jurisdiction over its present parks
or recreation facilities or over parks and recreation facilities to be con-
structed within the corporate limits of the City of Dort Orchard by the City
of Port Orchard in the future, and provided further that the City of Port
Orchard shall not be obligated or liable in any respect to provide funds for
the maintenance of the proposed swimming pool, or any park or recreation
facility to be constructed by the proposed park and recreation district.
