076-23 - Resolution - Accident Prevention PlanDocuSign Envelope ID: D2698268-40D3-48C3-9659-6613E6A4292D RESOLUTION NO. 076-23 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, ADOPTING AN ACCIDENT PREVENTION PLAN AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO MAINTAIN AND AMEND THE PLAN. WHEREAS, the City is required to have a written Accident Prevention Plan to address the safety of City employees; and WHEREAS, the Human Resources Department has worked to consolidate current safety policies into a comprehensive Accident Prevention Plan; and WHEREAS, the Accident Prevention Plan will be amended frequently to address changes in City operations and changes in regulations from the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries under the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA); and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to establish an efficient and effective process for amendments to the Accident Prevention Plan; and WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that the Mayor, as the City's chief executive and administrative officer, is responsible for the day to day operations of the City and safety of the City's employees and should, therefore, review and approve proposed safety policies and procedures; now, therefore; THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: THAT: It is the intent of the Port Orchard City Council that the recitals set forth above are hereby adopted and incorporated as findings in support of this Resolution. THAT: The Mayor is delegated authority to review, amend, and approve new Accident Prevention Plan policies and procedures for compliance with WISHA and best practices for the safety and health of City employees. THAT: The City's Accident Prevention Plan will include safety policies on topics including, but not limited to, subjects as shown on the attached Exhibit A. THAT: The Mayor shall periodically, but not less annually, provide the City Council with a report concerning all changes that were made to the City's Accident Prevention Plan during the prior reporting period.
