Discussion: Mini Storage Development. Community Development Director Bond told the committee that his department has recently had a number of inquiries about new mini storage developments. Some of the increased interest may result from the recent mini storage moratorium by the City of Poulsbo, and a partial development moratorium by the City of Bainbridge Island, which could be driving prospective mini storage developers to Port Orchard. In the past, the City Council has expressed concern about the appearance of mini storage developments, and their locations along primary commercial and gateway corridors. Bond showed the committee a map with existing mini storage locations, sites that have had mini storage preapplications, and sites with approved but not yet built mini storages, as well as suggested overlay areas to which future mini storage could be restricted. The committee agreed that the issue should be brought to the full Council for discussion. Next Meeting: The next meeting will be on May 14, 2018, at 9:30 am in the Council Chambers.
