Meeting Minutes
Monday June 8, 2015
Present: Bek Ashby, Fred Chang & Jeff Cartwright
City Staff present: Development Director Nick Bond, City Clerk Brandy Rinearson, DCD Front
Counter Clerk Lisa Stone, & Associate Planner Elle Davis
Guests: Mayor Tim Matthes
The meeting was called to order at 9:35 a.m.
Discussion: RFP for Event Tool Kit. City Clerk Brandy Rinearson stated she received one
response to the RFP. Council members Jeff Cartwright and Bek Ashby were both disappointed with
the lack of responses. Committee decides to recommend Sound Media, the only responsive
company. Rinearson will move forward creating a contract and bring it to council.
Discussion: Wayfinding System Update. Development Director Nick Bond stated he had a
meeting with Public Works Director Mark Dorsey about material issues and other engineering
issues with the signs. Committee held a discussion about use of city logo and signs.
Discussion: Special Event Ordinance Update. Rinearson stated there were no updates and
hoping to be done by first week of July.
Discussion: MySidewalk Update. Associate Planner Elle Davis stated she is working with Bond on
getting money back from this company because they were unable to provide the service they said
they could.
Discussion: Foot Ferry Marketing Plan Update. Rinearson connected with Port Orchard Bay
Street Association to allow city to use past posters. Rinearson stated the website and Facebook
were updated and posters were given to Kitsap Harbor Tours. The committee held a discussion
about how and where to place posters and brochures.
Discussion: Summer Meeting Schedule. Committee decided to cancel August 10th, 2015 meeting.
With that discussion, Ashby closed the meeting.
