Meeting Minutes
Monday October 12, 2015
Committee Members Present: Council members Bek Ashby, Jeff Cartwright & Fred Chang
City Staff present: Development Director Nick Bond, City Clerk Brandy Rinearson, DCD Front

The meeting was called to order by Councilmember Bek Ashby at 9:38 a.m.
Discussion: Meeting Minutes. The committee held a discussion about the accuracy of pervious
meeting minutes. The committee asked that the Committee Chairperson be allowed review
minutes before they are published online.
Discussion: KRCC. The committee held a discussion about possible criteria for the city’s local
centers to be recognized. The committee asked Council Member Ashby to look into this further at
KRCC to see what criteria exists for local centers.
Discussion: Summer Foot Ferry Ridership Recap & Schedule Meeting of Stakeholders. City
Clerk Brandy Rinearson provided the committee with passenger counts for the foot ferry. The
committee decided to wait until after the stakeholders meeting on October 19th to consider
supporting extended hours.
Discussion: Public Event Tool Kit. Rinearson provided the committee with copies of the public
event tool kit which is to be posted on the website. Committee members will provide Rinearson
with comments.
Discussion: Public Event Ordinance. Rinearson provided the committee with copies of the draft
public event ordinance. The committee discussed this ordinance and decided to have Rinearson
bring a new draft back to Economic Development Tourism committee on November 9th, 2015.
Discussion: Port of Bremerton Platform Covering. The committee requested an update about
the Port of Bremerton Platform Covering. Rinearson stated the city’s contribution to this project
was already in the mayor’s 2016 budget.
Discussion: Adding Commercial Space Locator to City Website. The committee held a
discussion about an email received requesting a commercial space locator to be added to the city
website. The committee decided not to add this to the website.
With that discussion, Ashby closed the meeting.
