Utility Committee
Meeting Minutes
March 12, 2024 at 5:12 PM
Utility Committee Members; Jay Rosepepe, Eric Worden, and Heidi Fenton met on March 12, 2024. Also present: Public Works Director Denis Ryan, Finance Director Noah Crocker, Senior
Planner Jim Fisk and Utility Manager Jacki Brown. Due to technical difficulties, the meeting was not recorded.
Election of Chair: Eric Worden nominated Jay Rosepepe for the Chair position, seconded by Heidi Fenton. The vote was unanimous.
Chair Rosapepe explained past practice regarding the Utility Committee to the two new Councilmembers.
Utility System Overview: Utility Manager Brown gave an overview of the three utility systems owned and operated by the City.
City Comprehensive Plan – Utilities Element: Senior Planner Fisk presented a draft of the Utilities Element of the City Comprehensive Plan. He asked for comments by the end of the
month.
Asset Management Program: Public Works Director Ryan gave an update on the Asset Management Plan and the Maintenance Management System. It is expected that we will have test software
to learn on in the next few weeks.
Metering System: Finance Director Crocker presented the current status of the new metering system that is being installed in the McCormick Woods Water System. There are 13% of the
radios installed and 14% of the manual reading meters have been replaced.
Marina Pump Station: Public Works Director Ryan reported on a problem encountered at the Marina Pump Station Project. A thrust block was discovered in the area that underground work
needs to use. Staff is considering alternatives to remedy the situation.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:10 PM.
