032-19 - Ordinance - Relating to Parking on Public Streets, Amending Section 10.12.500ORDINANCE NO. 032-19 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, REIATING TO PARKING ON PUBLIC STREETS; AMEND NG SECTION 10.12.500 OF THE PORT ORCHARD MUNIC PAL CODE, AND ESTABL SHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, WAC 308.330 .270 authorizes the City to adopt regulations to prohibit, regulate or limit stopping, standing or parking of vehicles in the City; and WHEREAS, Port Orchard Municipal Code Section 10.12.080(1) authorizes the City Council to from time to time, establish parking prohibitions and restrictions on portions of certain specified streets; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the best interest of the City of Port Orchard to periodically review and update such regulations; and WHEREAS, the City Council chose to codify the parking regulations in order to aid the public in its ability to access and review said regulations; and WHEREAS, in response to the unintended parking consequences associated with the popularity of the 2019 McCormick Village Park Phase 2 lmprovements, and as mentioned by the Mayor at the August L3,2OL9 Regular Council Meeting, specific revisions to Sections 10.L2.5OO, Parking prohibited at al! times, are hereby proposed by staff; now, therefore, THE C TY COUNCIL OF THE C TY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASH NGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOTLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 10.12.500 of the Port Orchard Munici pal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: 10.12.500 Park ng prohib ted at al! times. When signs are erected by the city engineer giving notice thereof, no person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts of streets described as follows: 1. Ada Street:on the north side of Ada Street, in front of 825 Ada Street. on the west side of the north 350 feet of roadway and on the left-hand side, as the traffic flows, of the remainder of the street. on the outside curb along the entire loop. 2.Advantage Avenue: 3. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining parts of this ordinance.
