AN ORD NANCE OF THE C TY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
SETT NG THE AMOUNT OF PROPERTY TAXES TO BE LEV ED FOR THE
YEAR 2O2O PURSUANT TO RCW 84.55.120 PROVID NG FOR
SEVERAB L TY AND PUBL CATION; AND SETT NG AN EFFECT VE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Counci! of the City of Port Orchard (taxing district #8710) has met and
considered its budget for the calendar year 2O2O; and
WHEREAS, the district's actual levy amount from the previous year was 52,842,577; and
WHEREAS, the population of the district is more than 10,000; now, therefore,
THE C TY COUNC t OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, HEREBY
ORDA N AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: An increase in the regular property tax levy is hereby authorized for the levy
to be collected in the 2O2O tax year.
SE N 2: The dollar amount of the increase over the actua! I evy amount from the
previous year shall be 511,179 which is a percentage increase of O.39327%ofrom the previous
year. This increase is exclusive of additional revenue resulting from new construction,
improvements to property, newly constructed wind turbines, solar, biomass, and geothermal
facilities, and any increase in the value of state assessed property, any annexations that have
occurred and refunds made.
sEcTroN 3.Severabilitv. lf any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance
should be held to be unconstitutional or unlawful by a court of competent jurisdiction, such
invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other
section, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance.
SECTI ON 4. Publication.This Ordinance shall be published by an approved summary
consisting of the title.
SECTION 5. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect five days after publication, as provided by law.
