A RESOLUT ON OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASH NGTON, APPROV NG
THE REVISED INCREASED SALARY FOR THE RECRU TMENT OF A NEW POLICE
CH EF.
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the city to periodically review the duties and responsibilities
of all employment positions; and
WHEREAS, in an effort to recruit qualified experienced candidates for the City of Port
Orchard's Police Chief; and
WHEREAS, through the recommendation of the recruitment consultant with the
Washington Association of Sheriffs and City Chiefs, it was determined a top salary increase for
the recruitment of a new Police Chief is warranted to benefit the City in recruiting a greater
pool of qualified candidates for the position of Police Chief; and
WHEREAS, the revised increased salary of 5155,000.00 for the recruitment of a Police
Chief is respectfully submitted with a recommendation for approval, now, therefore;
THE C W COUNC L OF THE CIW OF PORT ORCHARD, WASH NGTON, HEREBY RESOTVES
AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The Port Orchard City Council approves the revised top salary increase to
S1SS,OO0.00 in an effort to recruit a greater qualified pool of candidates for the City of
Port Orchard's Police Chief.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor and attested
by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage this 22nd day of January 20L9.
