A RESOTUTION OF THE C TY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASH NGTON, ADOPT NG
THE LODGING TAX ADVISORY COMMITTEE'S RECOMMENDATION FOR 2OL9
FUNDING ALLOCATION.
WHEREAS, on )uly 27, 2018, notice was sent that the City was accepting proposals for
Hotel/Motel Lodging Tax funding applications for 2018; and
WHEREAS, proposals were due to the City Clerk no Iater than September 5, 20t8; which 10
applications were received; and
WHEREAS, on September 27,2OL8, the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee met with each of
the applicants who presented their proposals; and
WHEREAS, on October 4, 20L8, the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee met to review the
applications and provide their recommendations to City Council; and
WHEREAS, duringthe October 9, 2OL8 regular business meeting, City Council reviewed the
2OL9 Lodging Tax Advisory Committee's recommendations and asked the Lodging Tax Advisory
Committee to meet again and; reduce the allocations; and
WHEREAS, On October 22, 20L8, the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee met and directed
staff to reach out to the non-profits and receive their input on their preference for lodging tax
allocations; and
WHEREAS, On November 5, 2OL8, the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee reconvened to
discuss responses received from the applicants. At the recommendation of the non-profits, the
committee reallocated the funds; and
WHEREAS, during the November L3,2OL8, regular business meeting, City Council
reviewed and approved the revised recommendations, now, therefore;
THE C TY COUNCIL OF THE C TY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASH NGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES
AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The City Council accepts the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee's 2019 lodging tax
recom mendations as fol lows:
